WHISPERS OF THE NIGHT

“Whispers of the Night” was inspired by a pair of Sandhill Cranes I encountered during my visits to Florida over the past few years. I affectionately named them Mika and Tika. During my morning walks, I eagerly anticipated the sounds of their wings and cry outs approaching as they glided toward a grassy area near a pond. They seldom let me down. Once they settled in, they would begin their enchanting dance, captivating me with their display of love and devotion to one another.

I hope this painting speaks to you, inviting you to reflect on the beauty of connection that transcends time—honoring the past, celebrating the present, and inspiring a future filled with love and shared moments.

In a tranquil lily pond, where the waters gleam,  
Two graceful cranes dance, lost in a dream.  
Beneath a starry quilt, in the night’s embrace,  
They twirl and they glide, in a delicate chase.  

The moon casts its glow, a silvery light,  
Illuminating their feathers, so soft and so white.  
With every gentle step, their hearts intertwine,  
In the rhythm of love, a moment divine.  

Ripples shimmer softly, like whispers of fate,  
As the cranes spin and sway, in a dance so innate.  
The lilies nod gently, in the warm evening breeze,  
As nature bears witness to their love’s sweet tease.  

With eyes locked in wonder, they share a soft sigh,  
Two souls in a waltz, under the vast, endless sky.  
In a world filled with magic, their spirits take flight,  
Two cranes in love, dancing through the night.
