"Charles the Strong" is deeply personal to me. When I first visited the Toronto Zoo, Charles was the one who captured my heart, calm, powerful, and watching over his troop with quiet dignity. Painting him surrounded by bright flowers and a playful toucan allowed me to honor his gentle strength and the lasting impression he left on everyone who met him.
